Family Guy Party Game in the works?

Thursday November 5, 2009 by Andy in Family Guy news

Family Guy Video Game

IGN are reporting that leaked information has revealed a new Family Guy game is in the works. Recently leaked information suggests that a new party game is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. The news comes from a former Game Designer at HB Studios, Chris Kolmatycki, via his Linkedin page on which his portfolio has highlighted his pre-production work for a “Family Guy Party Game”.

It has been nearly three years since the first Family Guy video game hit the shelves for the Xbox and PS2. There’s still no official word on this potential new addition, but the rumours sound reasonably reliable.

Hall and Oates guest on The Cleveland Show

Thursday November 5, 2009 by Andy in The Cleveland Show news

Daryl Hall and John Oates

Daryl Hall and John Oates will be providing the voices of reason and temptation in upcoming episodes of The Cleveland Show.

Oates said to Spinner Music:

“My son is a huge Family Guy fan. One day, Mike Henry, who is the voice of Cleveland, came back stage at one of the shows. He’s a real music lover, a great guy and asked us if we would do a voiceover on Family Guy and we did. Then when they spun off the show he asked us if we wanted to be almost like a recurring character. We thought it was amazing. We’re an angel and devil on the shoulder of Cleveland, giving him good and bad advice.”

They will be featuring as in the episode A Brown Thanksgiving as an angel and a devil on November 22nd and may feature in further episodes too.

UK: Season 8 DVD out today

Monday November 2, 2009 by Andy in Family Guy news

Baby Not On Board

The UK Family Guy Season 8 DVD release has hit the shops a week earlier than we expected; in fact it is out in shops as of today! Basically the same as the US Volume 7 release from earlier this year, just confusingly (as always) renamed Season 8; don’t be disappointed as the 13 episodes included are taken from seasons 6 and 7, not the eighth season.

Saturday October 31, 2009 by Mark in Family Guy news

Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show

Just under a week since Microsoft pulled out of sponsoring the upcoming special, Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show, Warner Bros have seized the opportunity and will be using the special to promote their upcoming Sherlock Holmes film (to be released Christmas Day). Whether the special will feature promotions exclusively for “Sherlock Holmes” remains to be seen, but the movie certainly will have a prominent spot in the program. A commercial in Fox’s pregame broadcast before Game 3 of the World Series told viewers to tune in to the Nov. 8 special for a sneak peek of the movie.

Microsoft pull sponsorship of MacFarlane and Borstein special

Tuesday October 27, 2009 by Andy in Family Guy news

Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show

Variety is reporting that Microsoft have pulled there sponsorship of Fox’s Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein special to be aired on November 8th. The comedy/variety special, Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show, was due to air free of commercial breaks due to special in show branding of Windows 7; however, Microsoft have withdrawn from the arrangement due to concerns over the show’s content: “We initially chose to participate in the Seth and Alex variety show based on the audience composition and creative humor of ‘Family Guy,’ but after reviewing an early version of the variety show, it became clear that the content was not a fit with the Windows brand,” said a Microsoft spokeswoman. “We continue to have a good partnership with Fox, Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein and are working with them in other areas. We continue to believe in the value of brand integrations and partnerships between brands, media companies and talent.”

Fox still plans on airing the show which was recorded the other week, but are looking for a new sponsor. The special will feature as part of an evening dedicated to Seth MacFarlane’s shows on Sunday November 8th, including two new episodes of Family Guy.
