Speaking to TV Week Twentieth Century Fox Television co-chairman Gary Newman has revealed that American Dad is on course for renewal, saying, “we should have an order for season 5 very shortly.” Newman highlighted the growing success of the show, “[we] feel incredibly fortunate that the patience we’ve all exhibited with ‘American Dad’ is really beginning to pay off. If you look at the ratings over the last five or six months, there’s been significant growth there in terms of its retention of ‘Family Guy’ in what’s traditionally been a very hard time period.” Season 4 is currently showing Sunday evenings at 9:30/8:30C on Fox.
