Family Guy news week roundup

This is a quick roundup of this week's Family Guy news:

Family Guy and American Dad have both received nominations for Comedy Central's inaugural Comedy Awards. They're up against The Simpsons, Archer and South Park for the Animated Comedy Series award. You can find out who wins April 10th across several networks. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "the awards are designed as the Oscars of the comedy business."

15 new blind-boxed Family Guy minis hit the shops yesterday. Each character is about 3-inch tall and retail at $9.95 (£9.00 UK; 10€ Europe). If you can't find them in the shops then check out Kidrobot's website for them.

Family Guy executive producer David A Goodman has tweeted that he no longer writes for the show: 'I no longer write for "Family Guy". That should get rid of at least 400 of you.' David helped write several episodes including "Stewie Kills Lois" and "It's a Trap".

And finally, if you're on Facebook check out our new Planet Family Guy page. If you're not one of our many followers (thanks to all of you that are) we're also on Twitter too!
