Family Guy will be attempting to get nominated for the best comedy series award at the Emmy’s this year. Last year Family Guy made it to the semi-finals, but failed to make the final short-list of nominees.
By targeting a nomination in the best comedy series category Family Guy forfeits a chance at the best animated series (which it has, so far, never won). The only animated series to get nominated for best comedy series to date was The Flinstones back in 1961!
