why have bbc3 classed it as series 7 i have that series on dvd and none of these episodes they are showing are on my dvd? help

The season/series number in the UK has caused much confusion for years now. The problem originates from when the DVDs were first being released in the UK ahead of the US by a couple of years. In the UK they opted to release the DVDs as seasons rather than volumes like in the USA. This introduced a season numbering that differs from the seasons aired on television on Fox. The episodes being shown on the BBC at the moment are from season 7; the episodes on the season 7 DVD are those from Volume 6 which consists of episodes taken from seasons 5 and 6.
When (date to be confirmed) the season 8 DVD is released in the UK it will be the equivalent of Volume 7 that consists of episodes from seasons 6 and 7.
