The Paley Center for Media is hosting a 70th anniversary salute to animation pioneers William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in Los Angeles on August 22, 2009. Seth MacFarlane, who worked on the Hanna-Barbera series, “Johnny Bravo”, is scheduled to participate as one of the panelists for ‘The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera: Inside the Studio’.
In a Los Angeles Times article , Mike Henry, Executive Producer and co-creator of “The Cleveland Show”, describes the impact the cartoons of Hanna and Barbera had on animation: “All the people, I am sure, who have created all the current animated shows grew up watching these shows. Our shows wouldn’t be there without them kind of pioneering the medium.”
On a related note, a video and an audiobook version of the 2006 appearance of the Family Guy cast and crew in “Inside Media at The Paley Center” are available for purchase on iTunes.

Great News! I will be trying to acquire tickets to this event. Lucky I live in L.A. and enjoy animation. Especially Family Guy.
