Sherlock Holmes to support Family Guy Variety Special

Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show

Just under a week since Microsoft pulled out of sponsoring the upcoming special, Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show, Warner Bros have seized the opportunity and will be using the special to promote their upcoming Sherlock Holmes film (to be released Christmas Day). Whether the special will feature promotions exclusively for “Sherlock Holmes” remains to be seen, but the movie certainly will have a prominent spot in the program. A commercial in Fox’s pregame broadcast before Game 3 of the World Series told viewers to tune in to the Nov. 8 special for a sneak peek of the movie.

The schedule for November 8th currently looks like this;

  • 7:30pm: American DadMan in the Moonbounce
  • 8:00pm: Family GuyBrian’s Got a Brand New Bag (guest voice Aimee Garcia)
  • 8:30pm: Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show
  • 9:00pm: Family GuyHannah Banana Quagmire’s Baby
  • 9:30pm: The Cleveland ShowCleveland Jr. Cherry Bomb (guest voices by Jason Sudeikis, Arianna Huffington and Jamie Kennedy)

    I knew it wouldn’t take them long to find a new sponsor. This show is highly likely to be a big ratings winner next Sunday.

    Does anyone know if there is going to be another family guy movie?

    There’s never been an official Family Guy movie, other than the straight-to-DVD thing a few years back which was really just three episodes played back-to-back. However, Seth MacFarlane has spoken of the possibilities of a theatrical release movie over the last couple of years. Look back over the movie news posts to see what has been said.

    If one is made it will be a few years before it gets seen as these things take a very long time to make, especially as it is animated!

    I missed the first part of the commercial with the new sponsorship mention, but I did note that they have apparently switched Hannah Banana out for Quagmire’s Baby.

    Fox have made an episode switch replacing Hannah Banana with Quagmire’s Baby. Hannah Banana will now be on the following week in Family Guy‘s normal Sunday night slot.

    Nope. Due to copyright laws it can’t legally be shown on British television screens. Expect it on the next DVD though.
