Celebrate Family Guy's 150th episode milestone tonight from 9pm ET/PT on Fox.
"In the special one-hour 150th episode event set in real time, Brian and Stewie (voices of Seth MacFarlane) get locked in a bank vault where they are forced to deal with each other on a whole new level. The episode also includes never-before-seen musical footage on the very special 150th "Brian and Stewie" episode of Family Guy."
There's a special desktop wallpaper featuring the characters of the show over at Fox.com to download, made especially for the occasion.

Wow.
This has to be the worst Family Guy episode I have ever seen.
150th episode and this is what they put on the air?
(And I’m not even talking about the musical bits, I turned it off before they started.)

Just saw the 150th episode and I can sum it in 2 words: Too Priceless.. Well done.

Going into the 150th episode, I couldn’t help but think this would be, as Laurie stated, “epic”. What I recieved was a great disappointment. This episode was absolutely terrible!

The 150th episode was the WORST episode ever!!! Wtf was that piece of CRAP! Wow…Im so sad for the Family Guy franchise. Total waste of time. The Brian/Stewie ones are always on the fence, but this one should have been thrown out. Absolutely awful.

umm, it kinda started well, then I don’t know, I am a fan, so I kept watching, till I just couldn’t go through to the very end, wonce they left the vault I was just kinda left there. Really, I didn’t want to see all those replays again, I guess Seth and his team just wanted to enjoy counting their mounds of cash while we get hyped up to see crap like that. Wow, low point, I really don’t wanna watch any other episodes after this one. South Park kicked ass this new season, so I guess I will have to resort to those guys for cartoon funnies, dissapointed…
Sam&Bman on Sunday May 2, 2010 at 11:31:48 PM said:
This was the worst family guy episode ever. Honestly it was an insult. It had so much potential and it went ahead and ruined itself. It started well and went steadily down hill from there. We love family guy, and watch all the new episodes but this was pushing the limit of my patience. I’d rather have had to sit in front of a 2 hour episode of the cleveland show. Real nice way to try and keep the fans interested.
Kim on Monday May 3, 2010 at 12:54:11 AM said:
This was a waste of a 1 hour block!!! 30 min of Stewie and Brian doing their “same ol’” Stewie acting as if he’s never been drunk before on the show, and the next 30 mins of the same musical numbers we see ALL the time on the syndicated re-runs that come on all week!!! Get it together Seth!! Im a die hard fan and would like my old Family Guy back please. Um thanks?
RB on Monday May 3, 2010 at 01:26:45 AM said:
Such a waste. For the 150th they could’ve and should’ve saved the live show. What they showed reminded me of the sitcoms in the 70’s when the main character does a “one man show” after becoming a widow or loses a family member. Even worse it’s this episode relied on the same tired “let’s get drunk, and confront each other” bit.
For a show that is generally funny, sarcastic and satirical they missed their mark. Such a waste of their 150th episode.

This episode was unbelievably bad. I mean, this literally was the worst episode of Family Guy ever. It went from “Terri Schiavo Are You Still Alivo?” to Stewie and Brian stuck in a vault and a bunch of musical numbers that can be seen on the DVD (with the exception of the Peter and Herbert one since those are skits from newer episodes). What happened here? Regradless, I was extremely disappointed. In fact, I was almost skeptical that this was a REAL Family Guy episode. I was expecting an overall joke at the end of this one, but I didn’t see it. I’ve never seen such a crappy Family Guy episode ever. Even on their bad days, Family Guy still has somewhat a funny appeal. This on the other hand, was a complete BORE! Was it a prank? Was this episode’s sole purpose was to protest against the FCC? If this was a prank on viewers, it wasn’t a very funny one. And if this was a “protest episode,” we get the message. The FCC is obviously censoring the writers of Family Guy too much, regulating them to write crap like this. I’m a loyal fan of this show, and even I must admit this episode was the black hole of suck. And I hope this was not a REAL episode, if you catch my drift.

Wow! A lot of people on here seem to have been really disappointed with last night’s episode. We’ve had some more positive feedback via Twitter. Come on people some of you must have liked Brian & Stewie; if you didn’t perhaps some constructive criticism would be useful (just in case Seth and co. are reading this page).
Grijze on Monday May 3, 2010 at 08:08:01 AM said:
I thought it was great. The animation was fantastic, the plot flowed well and it was a total break from the traditional to really explore the characters. It seems to have gone over badly with a lot of the ADD ‘just tuning in for a laugh and nothing else’ types, though.
AndrewD on Monday May 3, 2010 at 08:43:26 AM said:
I agree with Grijze. This was incredible. More shows need to break tradition like this, at least occasionally.

No Cutaways, but still a good episode. That McCain joke was priceless!
One thing’s for sure – I am so glad there wasn’t any musical numbers during the actual episode. It would have been too out of place and ruined the whole episode. Kind of like “clerks 2”.
I kind of miss the days when Stewie was more diabolical.

THAT EPISODE SUCKED

Family Guy is good at absurd comedy. But I’m not sure WHAT the heck ‘Brian & Stewie’ was suppose to be. It wasn’t funny. A dog eating poop in the corner… I felt bad for Brian, and I understand dogs eat poop and that Brian is a dog. And someone keeping a gun in case they feel like offing themselves? Dude… get help. And I don’t mean that in a bad way, I mean you’re a good person. If you need help, get it.
NotLaughing on Monday May 3, 2010 at 12:30:48 PM said:
So this is what happens when there are no cutaways? Wow, always knew it’d be boring but not THAT boring. If I wanted to watch something “meaningful” and/or “deep” I wouldn’t be watching family guy. Family guy serves but one purpose – making me laugh and relax. This did neither.
Sure, Seth wanted to do something that really explored the relationship between them; but come on, at least make it something interesting as opposed to disgusting. Brian eating Stewie’s poop? Wow. Brian thinks about suicide? Wow. Way to step out of the box.
Oh and the rest of the episode being musical segments was pretty lame too. The only good thing about those was hearing other voices besides Stewie or Brian. Otherwise all I saw was a graphical representation of laziness. At least other shows own up to it.
StanK on Monday May 3, 2010 at 12:32:00 PM said:
Absolutely brilliant and totally unexpected. Worthy of Beckett or Albee — a real play, a drama with comedy, revealing character and relationships with a true dramatic arc. No, not the usual FG, which I’m sure will return next week, and I can understand the negative comments from fans that may feel they have been sucker-punched. But this was a virtuoso turn. Seth managed to keep the two voices and characters entirely separate and each one convincing, and the script was thoughtful and intriguing. I love the madcap FG as well as any other fan, but this, while a bit headshaking, was entirely welcome. Bravo!

It was gross, but not in a humorous way, just a really tasteless way. It was depressing because you spent way too much time on Brian considering suicide, I just wondered why that was even put in there. To me, it went nowhere. Overall, it was boring…and then i had to listen to the musicals which are my least favorite thing about Family Guy. Some are okay, every OTHER blue moon. Instead of all of those musicals, I would have liked to have seen a double episode feature. The ending to Brian and Stewie…did we have different writers write this episode?

This was the sort of episode that pisses off people not intelligent enough to see what they were doing. Seth MacFarland has always been a throwback sort of guy, whether belting out Rat Pack tunes or tossing in a Benjamin Disraeli gag. This was a great episode in terms of television history. This shows that they don’t need to go back to the same tired cutaways and gags and can actual transcend the usual. I’m sure next week we’ll be back to Peter doing stupid crap, Meg getting insulted, and Quagmire screweding Taiwanese prostitutes, but for a landmark episode, this was an amazing show that will get people talking.
Kim on Monday May 3, 2010 at 11:32:47 PM said:
@ NotLaughing…I agree…and I happen to be intelligent enough to understand what he was doing and I appriciate it in that aspect however, I tuned in for a LOL funny, vulgar classic FG extravaganza…guess maybe I just had my hopes up for something different :)

This was the worst episode ever. It was boring and my partner and I turned it off as soon as Brian started talking about Suicide. Its a comedy show with gags like the bird is the word.
This seson has been pretty bad with Brian getting more political and wingey.
Stewies lame drunk bit has been done before. What a way to jump the shark. Just when you thought the 5 minutes of Conway Twitty was the shark along came this jaws. The only thing missing was stewie on waterskis.

Ppl are not unintelligent bcuz they didn’t appreciate fg strange 150th episode. This is comedic show its suppose to be funny. Stewie and Brian are cartoon characters. Any social commentary on fg is presented thru humor . This was gross, boring, lazy and very weird. I didn’t laugh once. And fg is SUPPOSE to at least attempt to do so. I got the feeling that fg wasn’t trying to be funny. It was so heavy I actually felt slightly disturbed by the end. Whatever is goin with Seth & co they need to get it together and fast.
Thomad on Tuesday May 4, 2010 at 01:44:40 PM said:
I found it a decent episode not stuffed with lame/easy jokes like usually is the case last seasons.
I liked the focus on Brain going deeper into his character and found it pretty well done, it’s 30 minutes entertainment with just 2 characters in 1 room I didn’t get bored watching it a single moment. Job well done writing staff!
The bullet scene was awesome imo, Brian and Stewie sitting under that table while the bullet still bumping around, nice nice , loved it!

Such a huge dissapointment! Being a huge FG fan, owning all the season DVDs including the Star Wars parodies, I could not watch past the first commercial break. I will probably be selling all my FG merch because this episode was such a letdown. want absolutely nothing to do with this show after seeing their 150th episode. I get it, Seth and Co., you proved you can make a show that has deep character development and that does not use cutaway gags, for which FG is often criticized for, but there is no excuse for this episode being this bad. It is really a slap to the face for the fans. If the writers at FG want to establish deep characters then they should look for work on a CBS drama or something instead of putting out garbage episodes like this 150th one. I would have rather gone on a heroin binge with a rusty needle than to have sat through ten minutes of this, for lack of a better word, HORRIBLE episode. And all those fans that say “the episode was great and you don’t get it, it was about establishing a deep connection with the characters and story and proving they can have a serious episode”, you are all pretentious idiots that should probably be watching something else. Go check out The Office or House if you want character and plot development! FG is for quick, smart, satirical jokes about pop culture and society, or at least it used to be.

Make sure to check the first seasons again then. Lots of them got character devellopment in them or b-storylines poiting out various in aspects of the characters (though the b-lines weren’t that develloped in the first seasons anyway sides the point)
P.e
The son also draws, brain: portret of a dog,…
Before calling everyone pretentious idiots that liked this episode, look in the mirror.Selling all your stuff for 1 bad episode, come on , really? Kinda pretentious and idiotic too if you ask me
I like the way Fg works out their characters (sides the entire Stewie is gay thing, I liked the evil Stewie more) It’s something typical FG too, the combination of connection with the characters and the cutaway humour. FG is way more then cutaway jokes and quick humour if you ask me…

Oh my God, that sucked! What a waste of time. Painfully bad writing. Reminded me of a late episode of Cheers. I taped it, thankfully, so I got through it faster. It was nothing more than 28 minutes of Seth M j***ing off, followed by the clips. The only part I even smiled at was the men’s choir singing the NAAFP “anthem”, and that’s only because I sing in a chorus myself. I think I’m finally ready to be done with FG. AD is still worth a chuckle here and there, ditto TCS. It will be interesting to see if we look back at this episode as the point at which FG jumped the shark.

I really don’t understand why people are complaining so much. No wait, I do. This episode was too much to comprehend for those who just want to numbly sit in front of the screen. Those who are intelligent can see this episode was really well-structured and enlightened both Stewie and Brian’s characters.
