Comic Con 09: The Star Wars Saga

Something, Something Dark Side

Probably the biggest draw to this year’s Family Guy panel at Comic Con was the inclusion of footage from the second part of Family Guy‘s Star Wars trilogy, Something, Something Dark Side.

The panel showed 10 minutes of footage from Something, Something Dark Side which begins with the text “a long time ago, when gays weren’t so in your face about it”. They screened the battle on the ice planet Hoth. Expect to see them rip into Fox in the episode too.

Unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a little longer to see the final product as its début has been put further back to December in order to allow them time to finish it.

The Return of the Jedi episode has been renamed from The Great Muppet Caper to We Have a Bad Feeling About This; according to David Goodman they were concerned that the original title would have caused confusion. The third instalment sounds like it is going to be a real treat for any fan of Seth MacFarlane’s shows as it will see characters from American Dad and The Cleveland Show join the characters of Family Guy!

Comic Con 09: Family Guy season 8 spoilers

Family Guy Comic Con panel

Seth MacFarlane and fellow cast members Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Alex Borstein, as well as Steve Callaghan, David Goodman, Mark Hentemann, and Kara Vallow made up this year’s Family Guy panel at Comic Con. IGN have called it: “one of the funniest panels at Comic-Con ’09”.

Here’s what they said we could expect from season 8 of Family Guy:-

  • Peter, Joe and Quagmire search for the source of all dirty jokes
  • Meg goes to prison and comes back angry
  • Chris finally reveals the Evil Monkey to the family
  • Lois takes up boxing
  • Brian gets behind the wheel drunk, then kills a dog; after confessing he learns that nobody cares
  • Lois hires Superman’s maid, Consuela
  • Peter has an affair with a cardboard cut out of Kathy Ireleand

There’s also going to be an episode about an unwanted pregnancy, but this is being kept for a DVD-only release as Fox have decided that it is inappropriate for television.

Also, expect to see an hour long two-part ‘who done it?’ episode featuring James Wood in the future!
