The UK television premiere of Something, Something, Something Dark Side - the continuation of Family Guy's  homage to the Star Wars saga - is on BBC Three tomorrow night at 10pm.  It's a double-length episode.

In other Family Guy Star Wars related news, Sanity is advertising a December 8th release date for the third installment, We Have A Bad Feeling About This, on DVD/Blu-ray in Australia.  This would suggest a pre-television DVD release of the special in the US too.

One month ago, after learning that the BBC were putting together a chart of the top 20 Family Guy characters that had amassed the most screen-time we thought we'd have a go at predicting it.  Last night BBC Three screened the countdown and our prediction results are now in.  The results are very interesting!

You may have read the other day that the BBC in the UK is going to be airing an original documentary charting the top 20 characters featured on all of the Family Guy series based on screen time. There's still no date for the show yet, but it got us thinking here at Planet Family Guy, who would make it onto the list? Well we've banded together and put together our predictions for the top 20.

Good news for British fans of Family Guy: the BBC has posted details of the premiere of the eigth season of Family Guy on BBC Three that will be part of a weekend of programmes dedicated to the show.

The weekend of shows on BBC Three will include two new episodes (never shown before on UK TV), the UK premiere of Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show, and a brand new documentary from the same team that produced the two specials Creating the Chaos and The Story So Far.

Here's what Richard Mills, producer and director of the new doc, had to say about the new programme:-

"In a nutshell our fab show sees the first count of character air-time in the show's history. We'll chart the top 20 characters featured in the show, based on the amount of screen time they have had across all of the Family Guy series.

"Alongside exclusive interviews from the cast and crew (Creator - Seth MacFarlane, Voice of Chris Griffin - Seth Green, Voice of Meg Griffin - Mila Kunis etc) we are approaching British celebrity fans to get their view on Quahog's finest residents, and of course, we'll be showing some all time favourite clips as well as some exclusive footage from the new series."

We still have no confirmation of when exactly this is going to take place but it is coming soon...

A couple of dates for the next Family Guy DVD release in the UK have been announced by a number of UK retailers: Family Guy Season 9 (in real terms season 8) will be out in British stores on May 24th according to some, or November 1st by others. Either way we do now have some details of what to expect.

The UK Family Guy Season 8 DVD release has hit the shops a week earlier than we expected; in fact it is out in shops as of today! Basically the same as the US Volume 7 release from earlier this year, just confusingly (as always) renamed Season 8; don’t be disappointed as the 13 episodes included are taken from seasons 6 and 7, not the eighth season.

Family Guy episode 420 about Brian campaigning for the legalisation of marijuana finally gets its UK début tonight. Previously skipped by BBC, presumably due to the death of Michael Jackson, 420 is on BBC Three from 10pm.

That brings an end to the run of new episodes now that the UK’s finally caught up with the US. Next week BBC Three will start showing repeats of Family Guy starting with the extended length episode, Blue Harvest.

Three Kings is tonight’s new episode of Family Guy on BBC Three at 10pm. Peter imagines his friends and family in three retellings of Stephen King stories. The run of new episodes ends next Sunday when the previously skipped episode 420 airs.
