MacFarlane: The Host with the most at Hasselhoff Roast

Seth MacFarlane was the Roast Master of "Comedy Central's Roast of David Hasselhoff," taped at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California on August 1, 2010.

According to Marc Malkin of E! Online: It was only about a minute into the show, when Roast Master, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brought up the vid (of a drunken Hasselhoff trying to eat a cheeseburger while on the floor): "He's multi-lingual," MacFarlane said. "He can speak English, Spanish, German and...whatever the f--k that language was in the cheeseburger video.

In honor of his popularity in Germany, Hasselhoff entered the roast surrounded by dancing German beer girls while performing "Hooked On a Feeling.""Marlee Matlin called," McFarlane cracked, "and said, 'Please, David, no more singing."

Among the guest roasters were George Hamilton, Pamela Anderson, Jeffrey Ross, Jerry Springer, Hulk Hogan, Lisa Lampanelli, Greg Giraldo, and Gilbert Gottfried.

The show is set to air on Comedy Central on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 10PM ET/PT.

Seth MacFarlane wants Allen/Shatner for Family Guy

Woody Allen

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Seth MacFarlane has revealed that he really wants Hollywood legend Woody Allen to guest on Family Guy. "Woody Allen would be kind of cool," said Seth, "but I don't think he'd ever do the show."

He's also confessed that they have tried to get Captain Kirk actor William Shatner on board but "not had a whole lot of luck". "We've probably poked a little too much fun at him!"

However, Seth's pleased with the long list of high calibre guests they have managed to do the show.

Would you like to see Allen or Shatner do Family Guy? Or is there someone else you'd really like on the show?

In Memory of Ann Perry MacFarlane

Seth and Rachael MacFarlane's mother, Ann Perry MacFarlane, passed away in her home in California with family around her on July 16, 2010 after battlling cancer.

Perry, as she was known, leaves behind her husband and children, one granddaughter, a sister who resides in Maine, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Following is an excerpt from an article at Newburyport News.com: "Throughout her adult life, Perry traveled extensively in the United States for the independent schools she represented. She and her husband Ron also traveled widely across Europe and the U.S. over the years.

In addition to being skilled in raising house and garden plants, loving to read and write, and cultivating deep friendships wherever she lived, Perry was an inveterate animal lover.

In lieu of flowers, Perry's family urges friends and relatives to make their donations to the Humane Society or ASPCA in her name."

All of us at Planet Family Guy offer our condolences to the MacFarlane Family.

No Family Guy treatment for the Star Wars prequels, but possible Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones

Family Guy really struck gold when they decided to parody Star Wars: A New Hope with the Blue Harvest episode. It has been hugely popular and led to the parodying of the sequels with Something, Something, Something Dark Side and It's a Trap to be released later this year on DVD and Blu-ray.

However, Seth has confirmed that they won't be tackling the prequels at this year's Comic Con: "I don't think we'll be going that route," he said. "They're just too expensive. LucasFilm has been really great to us [this far]."

Instead it seems like they might be planning to take on another franchise: "We may tackle Indiana Jones, but we're going to take a break [from the parodies] first."

Is this good or bad news? What over movies would you like to see get the Family Guy treatment? Or perhaps you'd like to see the Smiths or Browns tackle something?

Comic Con 2010: Here's what Seth had to say at the Family Guy panel

Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlane was asked if Family Guy was still his favourite show, to which he responded: "I don't have a favourite show, I spend most of my day-to-day time on Family Guy... so it's impossible to do one animated show every week. Sometimes we don't. I'm not the type of guy who likes to spread myself... it makes me feel more administrated and less creative." Alex Borstein likened Family Guy to a vagina, which was met by cheers from the audience.

Seth dismissed the idea of other franchise parodies (the final is the Star Wars saga is out later this year) stating that LucasFilm is an exception. However, he also said that, "We may tackle Indiana Jones."

He promised an hour-long special featuring three full musical production numbers. Plus "there’s an episode called ‘Friends of Peter G’ which has [a number from a Sinatra movie] and a song called 'Mr Booze'". As well as singing that controversial Down's Syndrome Girl song Seth suggested that the character may return as, "the actress was cool and had a great time." "If you take out all the bullshit that surrounded the episode, the character worked great and I can see us bringing her back."

On the subject of a cross-over episode of the three shows he responded that it was always possible and that, "there is one instance in a upcoming episode where you see all three fathers together... It’s hard because you have three sets of writing staff who have to keep going full steam on their own shows."
