A Report on Family Guy: Haiti Benefit Performance

Here’s a rundown of what went on onstage at The Gibson Amphitheatre during the Family Guy portion of Friday night’s Partners In Health charity event, which, along with the help of the cast of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” reportedly raised nearly $300,000 for the cause!

The table read of the abortion episode entitled “Partial Terms of Endearment” was performed by Alec Sulkin, Alex Borstein, Danny Smith, John Viener, special guest Julia Sweeney (best known for appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and her autobiographical shows), Seth Green, and Seth MacFarlane. Listening to this episode’s table read never gets old. I’m hoping the cartoon version ends up on DVD sometime soon.

Musical numbers were performed between the acts of the table read. Seth Mac performed “Prom Night Dumpster Baby.” Danny Smith and Seth sang “My Drunken Irish Dad”. Alec Sulkin (who is reportedly dating Sarah Silverman) and Seth performed “Me and Jesus”, a song that was cut from the broadcast version, but appears on the DVD version of “I Dream of Jesus.”

Seth MacFarlane’s tap dancing was really sweet and left me wondering if he would be interested in ballroom dancing on “Dancing With The Stars,” if only he had the time.

Seth performed a jazz song that introduced members of the Family Guy band. In old Rat Pack-style, he had a cigarette onstage during the performance.

Dr. Drew Pinsky (“Loveline”), who has a surprisingly nice singing voice, performed a duet with Seth. I was so shocked that he sang well, I forgot which song they sang.

Alex Borstein as Lois and Seth as Peter sang “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” the lyrics of which were re-written to include the various sexual acts that they no longer perform on one another.

Alex also performed her rendition of Lindsay Lohan’s audition of "Part of Your World," a song from the Broadway musical, “The Little Mermaid” plus a special version of the song, “Hungry Eyes” which was dedicated to the Haitians.

Adam Carolla announced via his website and Twitter that a podcast of what went on behind the scenes of the event will be available on February 15th.

Check out photos of the event from Chris Victorio of OCWeekly here.

Yeah, it was a GREAT and hilarious night!
Always Sunny…cast, Danny Devito was funny. But the best of the evening was Family Guy cast. This article tells it like it was.
Really talented cast with humor, song, dance and a LIVE BAND. A sad reason for the event, but very funny evening.
