Following the Family Guy panel at this year’s Comic Con Mike Henry, Seth MacFarlane, Rich Appel, and cast members Sanaa Lathan and Kevin Michael Richardson made up the first ever The Cleveland Show panel at Comic Con; with a second season already on order this may very well not be the last.
However, reaction to The Cleveland Show clips has not been so great. “The intros aren’t funny, the people aren’t funny,” reports Blend Television. Clips from a later episode were better received.
Here’s some revelations about what we can expect from the new show:-
- Cleveland Jr. is now fat
- Cleveland rapping
- Step-daughter Roberta has a boyfriend called Federline Jones
- American film director David Lynch will be voicing a bar owner on the show
- Season 1 guest voice Kayne West will be returning for a second season episode
- Cleveland Jr. pledges his virginity to his father, who takes his son to Comic Con to show him the hall of virgin geeks his son risks becoming should he never be touched by a woman
- Stewie will be making a cameo appearance in The Cleveland Show, so will other Quahog residents in the future
- Ernie the Giant Chicken may end up fighting with Cleveland
- Apparently Seth MacFarlane had suggested replacing Cleveland on Family Guy with the A-Team‘s Mr T, but others did not share his enthusiasm!
Seth MacFarlane cautioned that the Family Guy cameo appearances won’t be for a little while as the powers-at-be want the new Cleveland Show characters to be well established first (sensible really); Rich Appel jokingly interjected, “unless the show’s ratings suck, then we’ll have Peter on every week!”
Seth MacFarlane also said that if The Cleveland Show should fail there is always room for Cleveland on Family Guy.
IGN has further details of the scenes shown from the pilot episode (be warned they reveal quite a lot of detail).
