Tom has a disfigured son called Jake who was born with an upside-down head whom he is rather ashamed of.
Tom briefly went out with Thelma Griffin after she left her husband Francis and moved in with her son, Peter, and family. Thelma left him looking for a life free of commitment.
His moustache is fake and property of Channel 5!
