The two baseball teams are called the Pawtucket Pranksters and the Quahog Toy Boys (from the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory).
In Joe's story, the sign outside the orphanage reads: "Lucky's Orphanage: No one knows you're here."
In Tom's news report the graphic behind him reads "Pit Bull Attacks Single Engine Cessna" before he notices that it is for the wrong story and the camera switches direction to correct the mistake.
