Bye Bye BirdieThe musical number that begins with Joe calling Cleveland to gossip about Peter's IQ test results (which was cut out of the original Fox broadcast) is a parody of "The Telephone Hour" from the 1960's musical/movie "Bye Bye Birdie."

Fantastic Four

It then cuts to a blonde man, on his knees, in police uniform, being shot repeatedly, screaming. This is actually what happened in the movie Robocop. He was being shot repeatedly. He is rather brutally killed.
