Neil Goldman Interview

This is the exclusive interview of Neil Goldman done by Rupert in September 2000 for There's Something About Family Guy (now Planet Family Guy). For those of you who don't know who Neil is, he is one of the script writers for Family Guy.
Rupert: How did you get into writing for television and what
did you work on before Family Guy?
Neil Goldman: After graduating college, I won an internship
through the TV Academy which eventually landed me a job at Warner
Bros. Television. While holding down various jobs in the
industry, I also wrote a bunch of sample scripts with my writing
partner, Garrett Donovan (who I met through my school's alumni
association). After three or four, we wrote one that was good
enough to land us an agent and eventually a writing job on a show
called "Step By Step" with Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers. The
show was basically a weak, updated version of the Brady Bunch,
but hey... I got to work with Crissy! It was also kind of ironic
that Patrick Duffy ended up in the Y2K episode of Family Guy,
which I wrote.
