UK: Family Guy is back on BBC Two

Posted by Andy on Thursday, January 12, 2006 in Europe

Family Guy returns to BBC Two later this month with the previously cancelled airing of Kiss Seen Around the World on Sunday 22 January at 11.40pm. Meg gets an internship at the local TV station and a bully steals Stewie’s tricycle.

In other UK news it looks like the region 2 release of series 4 on DVD is set for the 24th April 2006. We have no further details on this yet, but we will bring them to you when we get them.

Just to update the news about the region 2 DVD. It looks like it will contain 21 episodes, that’s more than the region 1 release, from North By North Quahog to Patriot Games.

Finally, keep an eye on Planet Family Guy as we have a contest coming soon.

I pre-ordered my Family Guy Season 4 today, All 21 Episodes unlike america they only got 13!
    Back on BBC2, YES!

  4. hello (Thu 12 January 2006)

thats awesome. 21 episodes in the season 4 dvd. and im not in the uk but australias r4 dvd of Family Guy are completely similar beside region no.

  5. Bezz (Fri 13 January 2006)

i must admit by the time the vol 4 will be out in usa and they would have covered alot more than 21 episodes by the time the R2 dvd comes out. The volume 3 R1 dvd does only have 14 episodes on but it's only half the season. I won't be buyin the season 4 R2 dvd cos it only has the episodes and i don't think it will have any special features either.

  6. Scott (Fri 13 January 2006)

thats sucks. i wish there were 21 wpisodes in the u.s.

  7. Bezz (Fri 13 January 2006)

I think i'm gonna stick with volume 4 release R1 cos when it comes out it will cover so much more into the season, i feel the R2 dvd will be a waste of money for me personally.

  8. John (Sat 14 January 2006)

Yeah, it's true that by the time we get volume four, the region 2 set will probably not have come out, but....think about it. we're paying nearly $60 for those episodes and they're paying about $30. We're buying those 21 episodes twice. Damn marketing.

  9. some guy (Sat 14 January 2006)

  10. Liam (Sat 14 January 2006)

  11. Bezz (Sat 14 January 2006)

Sorry I'm one of the uk fans who like to be one step ahead and by the time you guys are watching season 4 I would have possibly seen half of season 5 from America, It's a shame to R2 dvd doesn't have any special features cos i would have bought it otherwise. The USA one's ahve loads.

  12. i refuse to giv that valuble info away (Sun 15 January 2006)

  13. fgfan (Sun 15 January 2006)

  18. Dan (Wed 18 January 2006)

That's lucky for them that they will get 8 more episodes than us. I dont live in the UK but ill be more than happy to wait until spring to get Volume 4.

  19. redmax (Thu 19 January 2006)

"Stannie get your gun" and "Screwed the pooch" are scheduled for Jan 29th, so we seem to be back on track

  20. rancho (Fri 20 January 2006)

hey cool man, you must be a nerd if your watchin family guy all the time, i love it but i need to lead a life aswell

  21. jessica (Sat 21 January 2006)

    eww

  22. Beamer (Sun 22 January 2006)

Dan, I wouldn't exactly call them lucky - since the UK Family Guy DVDs have absolutely NO special features whatsoever. I don't know why they don't just release the same DVDs internationally... Either way, the extra episodes on the UK DVD will undoubtedly be in the US Volume 5.

  23. KEV2012 (Mon 23 January 2006)

YES-YES-YES...Season 4 on DVD in the UK...can't bloody wait...ROCK ON FAMILY GUY..."don't judge me, just doing my thing!!!"

Update for the region 2 release, Accroding to play.com the region 2 release now only has 13 episodes like the region 1 release. So those of us who bought the region 1 release back in November 05 you won't be missing out on anything and hopefully the next R1 edition will be arriving on Playusa.com really soon.

  35. Bezz (Thu 06 April 2006)

According to play.com region 2 release will only have 13 episodes like region 1 so for those who imported volume three you won't be missing out on anything.

  36. Homer13 (Sat 15 April 2006)

Yep all seems confirmed to be 24th of april with 13 eps!
Can't wait I've already seen clips from eps which have cracked me up =D

  37. Tom (Mon 24 April 2006)

can someone who ordered a copy of the UK version from amazon.co.uk please confirm that it has 20 episodes and not just 13 please?

  38. Rg (Sun 30 April 2006)

Why does family guy season 4 only have 13 episodes?

  39. Kam (Mon 01 May 2006)

no, warren, you are wrong. there are only 13 episodes. im pissed off, they did the same with american dad. they shouldnt label it "season four" or "season one" when its NOT actually the whole season. they dont even identify that its only part of the season.

  40. RG (Mon 01 May 2006)

Im so angry that the box set (R2)only has 13 episodes on it when it advertises "the complete season".
