Family Guy goes Pop-art

Posted by Andy on Saturday, October 14, 2006

A couple of days ago we reported in our news section that there will be an exhibition of Family Guy inspired art opening at The Museum of Television & Radio in Los Angeles on November 8th (full details can be found in the original post). Well Planet Family Guy has got its hands on previews of some of the pieces from the What The Deuce Are You Staring At!?! A Collection of Interpretive Work Inspired by Family Guy exhibit.

I must say that I am rather impressed with what I have seen. The Quagmire piece above is a personal favourite of mine, along with Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time by Brandt Peters (the artist has captured a real sense of loneliness in this work) and Joel Trussel’s Cookiequest that you’ll find after the jump. I hope that I will get an opportunity to see the exhibition when it starts its world tour next year, it looks like an excellent collection.

These are amazing! Now… if only we could obtain wall-poster reprints ;-). I’d hang these up everywhere.

I would not be surprised if they did start to sell these as wall posters. They are really good, and I suspect many would prefer to hang one of these on the wall than the currently available Family Guy posters.

They are now available as limited editions from Fox Studio Art: http://www.foxstudioart.com/index.htm?catid=360
