For the second year in a row Family Guy has missed out on winning the Emmy award for “Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour)”. This year’s prize goes to The Simpsons for the episode The Seemingly Neverending Story (their 9th win of the prize in the show’s 17 years).
Family Guy was nominated for the prize with the episode PTV earlier this year. Last year Family Guy lost the award to South Park.

Family Guy has been nominated for an Emmy in the “Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour)” category for the episode “North by North Quahog”. It is up against “Samurai Jack”, “The Simpsons”, “South Park”, and “SpongeBob SquarePants”.
Family Guy has previously done well at the Emmys, winning awards for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for the song “You’ve Got a Lot To See” from the episode “Brian Wallows and Peter’s Swallows” in 2002, and in 2000 Seth MacFarlane won the award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for his Stewie voice. Also in 2000 it was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program (“Road to Rhode Island”) and Outstanding Music and Lyrics (“We Only Live To Kiss Your Ass” – “Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater”) Emmy awards.
