Last month we made a post about a pilot for a show by former Family Guy writers Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan, and Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, called Nobody’s Watching that was never picked up by a network, but had appeared on YouTube. Well since then it seems that people have been watching. According to the MediaGuardian (free subscription required), “More than 300,000 people watched the first part of the pilot on YouTube, and 100,000 have seen the whole thing online.” Now the show has been picked up by NBC, with an expected six-part series.

in Spoilers
Some of the top bods from Family Guy and American Dad were at Comic-Con 2006 yesterday and gave a few hints at what to expect in the new season of Family Guy:-
”…there are more issues of teen and parental angst as well as an entire episode that takes place in a ‘Star Wars’ world.”
Read the full article over at the Movie Web website where there is also some discussion of the South Park-Family Guy feud and Mike Barker revealing that he invented the character of the Evil Monkey.

Last week we reported about the Swiss Family Guy Robinson act at the Toronto Theatre Fringe Festival. The show received great reviews from both critics and Family Guy fans alike.
Well the show received the Patron’s Pick, as well as being selected by the Diesel Playhouse as part of its The Best of The Fringe showcase! So those in the Toronto area have another chance to catch Brian Froud’s show at the Diesel Playhouse (56 Blue Jays Way) in Toronto on July 19 (9pm – tonight), July 20 (7pm), and July 21 (9pm).

Finally we have cleared the massive backlog of cultural references you guys have been submitting to us. Thanks to all who submitted references to our episode guide.
The process was slowed down by those using the submission form for reasons other than references (if you want to comment on an episode or point out missing characters/mistakes from our episode capsules email us instead). Also, please in future try to use good spelling and grammar when submitting a reference as it makes life easier as we can just approve the reference without having to rewrite it.

We have only just received this news, so sorry if it is a bit late, but if you are in or near the Greater Toronto Area then check out Brian Froud’s Swiss Family Guy Robinson show at the Toronto Theatre Fringe Festival. Froud’s play spins the Griffins and their neighbors into the classic Swiss Family Robinson tale.
Brian Froud does a pretty good job at many of the voices from Family Guy, except Meg as according to Froud she is too hard to do. There’s a sample audio file on Froud’s website with many of the voices, and also an impression of Lou and Andy from the BBC’s Little Britain.
The play is on until this Saturday!

While I should have been working today I was checking out some stuff on youtube.com and came across an unseen pilot for a show titled Nobody’s Watching. Apparently a few of its creators were former Family Guy writers. While not as edgy as the humor found in Family Guy I really like the concept. I was unable to find much information about it which leads me to believe it was probably not picked up.
You can check out the entire pilot which has been broken into three clips here:
